What's the main purpose of this site (besides displaying some cheezy graphics)?

Horror movie repertoire will be (given enough time) a ressource to find information about all matters of horror movies, b-rated, r-rated, cheezy, exploitation, trash, low budget, weird and just plain bad movies. Here you will also find suggestions for movies of similar nature, as well as categories to help sort things out.

Ok, there are already a zillion sites about movies, so why does this site exist?

For a few reasons. For the last couple years, i've seen my share of horror and other underground movies. Enough that it occured to me that i needed a way to follow which movies i've seen. Cause it happens quite regularly that i enter a videostore and wonder if i have seen this movie or that one, and it's even happened that i rented some movies, and finally realized i had already seen them. Sometimes because the title and cover of the box is different from the version i've seen (how many goddam versions is there of "Night of the living dead" or "Zombie"?), sometimes i don't even remember seeing the whole thing (shhh! i'm not supposed to tell).

I had started exploring other websites to find some suggestions to expand my horizons. Some sites were truly interesting and useful at that, but i found that most sites focus on one or two particular types of movies, either Classic horror, Splatter, Slashers, Zombie, B-rated, Bad horror, Cheezy, Trash, etc.. But none of them satisfied my hunger for all those genres combined without falling into the exact opposite of covering all genres of cinema (for exemple Internet Movie Database). Also, i found there was a lack of suggestions for movies with similar qualities, as in "if you liked this movie, you should also like that movie".

Lastly, i needed a good ground to test stuff related to web design & programming (i am a web designer/integrator by profession), and everyone in the field knows it's boring as hell to try stuff when you don't have a specific goal in mind. So there it is, enough reasons to put this site together. In turn, i hope this site will help people expand their cinematic horizons.

For those of you who wonder, sorry i'm not gonna talk more about myself, in case there would be some psycho-killers in the audience :p

Why are there so many high ratings (9-10) for the movies reviewed?

Because i tend to mostly watch movies which i think i'll highly enjoy (who wouldn't?), and luckily for me, i indeed enjoy very much a great deal of the movies i get to see. With time it's possible that the average rating will be lower, since i will have seen most of the movies that appealed to me in the first place.
