Appreciation: 6/10
Well, to start off, the 3D didn’t work much in my case. I dunno if it’s the glasses or my eyes that need to be fixed but most of the movie I was struggling to actually see the 3D, and it only worked a bit, but most of the time I just watched the movie in red & blue. Now here’s the problem. The whole point of these movies is just to find as many reasons to poke you with 3D as possible, and the rest (plot, acting) is just secondary. From what I heard, the film is one of the most eye-tingling speaking of 3D, but I didn’t have the chance to see that, so I’ll pass on to the rest.
The acting was pretty decent, nothing extraordinary, and the Fx (that is the reptilian costume) was ok as well, so nothing to laugh about here. The dialogues, on the other hand, saved this film for me. The 2 main characters (a man and a women) got into some lenghty discussions about love, the role of man and women in society and I found it insanely hilarious, that so many stereotypical stuff could be thrown in a movie at once. It’s not uncommon to find such ludicrous dialogues in modern Hollywood movies, but I was surprised to witness it in this movie.
All in all, see it for the 3D (if you can) and the dialogues. Mildly entertaining.
