Killer Klowns from Outer Space
Stephen Chiodo (1988, USA)
Cast: Grant Cramer, Suzanne Snyder, John Allen Nelson, John Vernon, Michael Siegel, Peter Licassi
Plot:
A UFO crashes near a small american town. The inhabitants of this UFO are aliens who look like clowns, act like clowns and live in something that looks like a circus. Only thing is, they are mean, and they turn everybody in sight into pink cotton candy for further use (most probably to eat them). The young couple who survives their initial encounter with the killer klowns try to warn the town, but of course everybody laughs at them (understandably). With the help of local policeman (who happens to be the ex of the young girl, how convenient) and 2 others dimwit friends, they take on them to save the town. But the clowns prove harder to kill than they thought, and they have more tricks in their bag...
Appreciation: 10/10
I had wanted to see this movie for so long. Finally i did it, and didn't regret, oh no.. .
First thing that comes to mind from this movie is: How cute & charming. No matter how mean the clowns are, they look more sympathic than the inhabitants of the town, and will make you fall back in infancy. I mean, with popcorn guns, chinese shadows eating people, big pink cotton candies, acid pies and a totally delirious setting. Only Burton could have made it better with a big budget, but even then the movie would've lacked some cheezyness i suppose.
The special effects are clever and the sets and designs are simply amazing! This has to be one of the best B movies ever. I can't imagine how it would be to watch this movie with a bunch of friends and some alcohol at midnight :)
If you don't like this movie you have some serious issues with the child in you..
Other suggestions: Bio Zombie, Plan 9 from outer space
