Appreciation: 10/10
4 words: Insanely funny and gory
Everything about this movie fits together so well. That is, everything about this film is crazy and twisted. The plot, the actors, the humor, the gore.
First, the plot. Very original, in that all along the movie you think "the madness will stop here and we’ll have a normal story from now on, won’t we?" WRONG! The madness unfolds and before you realize what’s happened, another plot twist hits you right in the face, leaving you with a perpetual "wtf??! ...??!?...?!?!!" state of mind.
The actors are exemplary in their roles. Combs leads this film with absolute brilliance. Everything about this character is funny and weird, his way of being, speaking, thinking, everything. Him, followed by Gale, as both totally f**ked up scientists are one of the best duos I’ve seen. The re-animated characters are also real convincing, and the rest of the cast is solid as well.
What else to say? It’s gory as hell, it has some well placed twisted humor. You get disembowlments, head drilling, limb tearing, skull cracking, severed head (w/ headless body), and some fluorescent green ooze. Need more? If so you need professional counselling :)
Absolute must see for gore fans.
