Teenage catgirl in heat
Scott Perry (1997, USA) - Troma Movie
Cast: Gary Graves, David Cox (II), Esmeralda Huffhines, Lance Henry
Plot:
An Egyptian cat god in the form of a statuette commands all local felines to surrender their nine lives so they can transform into beautiful women to mate with (and terminate) human males, then prepare to the way for "The Great Litter." A professional cat-tracker and a clue-less guy set out to stop them.
Appreciation: 5/10
Though the movie is not entirely bad, I was a bit dispointed with it. I guess I was fooled in my expectations, by the cover picture of a sexy feline girl (yes I know, never ever trust a movie by its cover), thinking that there would be something kinky and sexy about the movie (at the very least..)
But all the things you would expect from a B-rated movie (might I add, a Troma movie!), gore, nudity, excesses of all kinds, politically incorrectness and all weren’t there (or in such low amount that I didn’t notice them).
That being said, I must admit the movie was still enjoyable and charming most of the time. The actresses portraying cuty & adorable human-kitties (instead of the more sexy feline type expected), as well as their little intentionally-faked smaller counter-parts (see the suicidal cats flying..) helped keeping a light-hearted atmosphere to the whole piece. And the plot in itself is quite funny too in its simplicity. But the real jewel here is the performance by the cat-chaser (can’t remember which actor it was), more or less in the same league as Jeffrey Combs in Re-animator. Let’s hope we’ll see him in others flicks soon.
Don’t miss the spectacular "night" effects of the blue lenses :)
Far from the best Troma, but very far from the worst movie..
